FMS 121 Perfect Blend RAK

A good friend of mine recently asked me to make her some RAK cards.  She wants to send out cards as "Random Acts of Kindness."  Perhaps she'll slip a Dunkin' Donuts gift card in there?  I wanted to use the Perfect Blend stamp set and the sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches served for inspiration.

I definitely think I veered wildly from the sketch, but I promise it started out that way!  I keep a sketch book and always try to jot down ideas when the inspiration hits.  In this case it was the sketch and the I worked it out from there:

I try to write down what inspired me (in this case FMS 121) and the colors I'd use (if you can read my chicken scratch).  Then I sketch up the rough idea - as you can see, very rough!  Then it's time to get to work!

Here's what I came up with:
The little heart element from the sketch didn't make the final card.  I liked the "white" or in this cases "crisp cantaloupe"space and didn't want to add anything else to it.

The sentiment is punched out using the Artisan Label punch and popped up on a dimensional.  In order to get two cups side by side, I stamped the first image on the left on the Sahara Sand.  I made a mask of the image by stamping onto a Post-It note and cutting it out.  I placed the mask over the first image and then stamped a second time.  I also stamped the lid part of the image onto Whisper White and the cup sleeve onto Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper, cut the images out and attached them to the Sahara Sand.  The finishing touch is a little punched out flower with a rhinestone in the center.

Thanks for stopping by!
