Simply Pressed Button Card

It's been a crazy summer!  Can't believe it's been so long since my last post.  I've had lots of new goodies that I got at the beginning of July, but haven't had time to play with them.  Now that I have a demo meeting coming up, that has forced me to do creating.

I volunteered to demo one of our new products called Simply Pressed Clay.  You get a pouch full of white clay (similar to Model Magic that my daughter plays with).  Currently there are two silicone moulds, one Buttons and the other Flowers.

There really are some fun things to do with the clay.  You can dye them with reinkers and fold into the clay to get any color you need.  Use dazzling diamonds, embossing powder, and Crystal Effects gives a nice glossy shine to it!  Drying time is important as taking the mould out too soon can result in skewed buttons and flowers.  Putting in the freezer helps speed up the time.  Or let the clay sit out for 1/2-1 hour before putting it in the mold.  Spraying the moulds with cooking spray helps them release easier as well.

Here is the card I came up with:
The colors are Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe.  The clay is dyed with Pistachio Pudding reinker before putting in the button mould.  I let it air dry overnight and then threaded it with Coral Baker's Twine.
Other goodies I used included:

  • Label Love stamp set
  • Pennant Parade stamp set
  • Modern Mosaic TIEF
  • Deco Labels Framelits
  • Artisan Label Punch
  • Hexagon Punch (to make banner ends on DSP)
  • 1" Circle Punch
A quick and easy Thank You card that you could easily change up for other occasions using the Label Love stamp set!
