Nephew's Birthday Card

Stuck right in the middle of all of his girl cousins, my one nephew has his birthday.  Girlie style cards are definitely not his thing!  This is his last year before he becomes a teenager.  Masculine style cards are always a little more difficult to come up with, add to that making one for a tween!

Banners!  Those don't have to be just feminine!  And by keeping the colors to Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade, it gives it a more masculine feel, as well as embossing using the Honeycomb TIEF.

The Chevron Oval is from Oh, Hello stamp set in Lucky Limeade ink and cut using the new Ovals Collection Framelit die.  The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches set in Island Indigo and is embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  Punched out using the Large Oval punch and popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Embossing Tip:

  • Ink up image in VersaMark ink
  • Then ink image in Island Indigo
  • Stamp image on Cardstock
  • Add Clear Embossing Powder & heat set
Embossing this way allows you to be able to emboss with all your Dye Ink Pads rather than having Craft Ink.
